About
Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedics Clinic is a highly specialized health institution which deals with surgical treatment of children. The beginnings of pediatric surgery are related to the work of Milun Mitrović (1901-1978), the first pediatric surgeon, who started working in the General Hospital in Niš in 1945. In 1952 the section of pediatric surgery was established in the General Hospital, and in the following year it was transformed into a department. The Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedics Clinic was formed in 1971 and it had 6 sections. The Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedics Clinic deals with the treatment of children in the field of pediatric surgery, orthopedics and traumatology. Along with typical diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, the following treatments have been introduced in the last couple of years:
