NEW CLINICAL CENTER

The Clinical Center Niš officially launched the reconstruction and construction of a new building worth 32 million euros, which has been granted a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This event marks the beginning of the project "Reconstruction of Four Clinical Centers in Serbia: Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac". The contractor is the Italian firm INSO which has so far designed, built and equipped many medical facilities in several European countries.
At the opening ceremony Minister of Health said that this loan was granted in 2006 and its ratification in the Parliament occurred two years later. "However, the projects were not ready, which was the main prerequisite for its realization, and it has remained as the main thing to be dealt with in the future. I am particularly pleased that the works will begin in Niš, and next year they will start in Kragujevac and Novi Sad and later in Belgrade"- said Minister of Health Slavica Đukić Dejanović.
Director of the Clinical Center Niš Zoran Radovanović thanked everybody who contributed to the construction of the new facility so that Niš can get better healthcare, and healthcare workers will have better working conditions". I am particularly pleased that they have respected the requirement that 1/3 of the project is conducted by the companies from Niš" - said. Zoran Radovanović.
The director of INSO Carlo Orlanducci said that this project is very important for them because of the construction of future buildings. He added that this will be a modern design with a modern technology which they will be proud of.
Usable area obtained by the reconstruction and construction of the new building is 48 000 square meters, which will house 15 operating rooms and 2 emergency center, as well as Radiotherapy, Department of Radiology, Operations Center and the Center for Operative Intensive Care.
The deadline for the completion is 32 months.
